Maximizing and Extending the Benefits of Your Healing Bodywork Session

In addition to any energy activations and stretches I might recommend you do post-session,

in general, please make sure that you are:

Drinking plenty of water

(Even if it means a few extra trips to the bathroom)

Both massage and energy healing are detoxifying to the body, which means that there will be a lot moving through your system that needs to be flushed out. Water helps your body let it go, and reduces the probability of stiffness and soreness following your session.

Getting plenty of rest

Energy healing in particular can create a need for deep recharging and rest, as changes made in the deeper levels of your being can often bring on a surprising level of fatigue! Don’t be alarmed if you are extra sleepy for 1-3 days following your session. Just do whatever you can to make sure that you get the rest you need!

Paying attention within

Especially if you are not already engaging in mind/body awareness practices such as yoga, meditation, or dance, etc., take the time now to tune in and take note of what’s going on “in there.” Notice what’s going through your mind, how it is making you feel, how deeply you are breathing, how and where your body is holding tension (or not!).
