While misery and fear suppress the immune system and cage us within, happiness and love engender well-being and reflect our natural state of freedom. In addition to taking our vitamins, exercising, and eating well, I suggest we all take very good care of our emotions right now, and reach higher, so we can rise above the latest onslaughts on our health.

In a state of innocence and observation, in the space of not-knowing, we leave room for the new; we invite awareness to enter, and we open up to our healing. We start the process of learning more about ourselves than we knew when we began. When an open door is available for new awareness to enter, a higher perspective can inform the work. It is into this space that miracles may come.

Hiccups are caused by an involuntary contraction of the muscle called the diaphragm, which is a main mover in our breathing process. What you’re about to learn is how to take firm, voluntary control over that muscle when it is in hiccup mode. All it takes to stop hiccups is a few seconds of holding this posture with firm muscle control. You’ll gain more ability the more you do it.
